Growing Advice - Peony Poppy
Easy to grow - will do well in a moist, rich soil but do need good drainage and shelter or support in strong wind. Full sun and best sown direct where they are to grow in Autumn or Spring - early Summer - they form unusual seed pods after flowering. Press seed into soil surface (light required for germination) keep damp not wet until germination (approx 7-14 days) - thin to 30cm for better flowering. Flowers are short-lived in a vase but are beautiful - pick as bud opens and colour starts to show, cut and scald stems in boiling water before placing in vase half full of water. Sunlight will help them open.
Will return the next season if allowed to self seed.
